Classify polyurethane adhesives by their form

1.Solvent-based Polyurethane Adhesive

The most classic liquid form, with moderate viscosity and uniform application, it cures quickly and has strong initial adhesion. It has excellent compatibility with difficult-to-adhere materials such as leather, plastic, and fabric. However, it contains a small amount of organic solvents, and construction requires ventilation. It is mainly used in fields like shoe manufacturing, soft packaging laminating, and leather covering, and is a commonly used product in traditional light industry. 

2. Water-based polyurethane adhesive

This adhesive uses water as the dispersion medium, is environmentally friendly with low VOC content and no pungent odor. It belongs to a green and environmentally friendly type of adhesive. After curing, it has good flexibility and resistance to yellowing, making it suitable for scenarios with high environmental protection requirements, such as furniture board bonding, food packaging laminating, and children's product bonding. The drying speed after construction is moderate, and both storage and operation are safer. 

3. Solvent-free polyurethane adhesive

Pure liquid without solvent addition, with a solid content of 100%. It has high bonding strength and strong sealing performance, and has outstanding weather resistance and aging resistance. It is commonly used for structural bonding in automotive interiors, rail transportation, and new energy components, meeting the dual requirements of environmental protection and high strength in high-end manufacturing. 

4. Hot-melt polyurethane adhesive

It is in the form of solid particles or gel sticks at room temperature. After being heated and melted, it can be applied and solidifies upon cooling. The construction efficiency is extremely high. It is solvent-free, quick-drying and precise, suitable for automated production lines. It is mainly used in fast-paced processing scenarios such as furniture edge sealing, bookbinding, and pipe bonding.
