How to clean polyurethane adhesive?

During the application of Polyurethane Adhesive, there may be situations where the polyurethane adhesive leaks and contaminates the items. In general, properly cleaning the polyurethane adhesive can solve the problem.

1.Cleaning un-solidified polyurethane adhesive

①Skin contamination: Immediately wipe off the excess glue with a dry tissue, then apply alcohol (concentration above 75%) and rub for about 30 seconds, followed by rinsing with water. If no alcohol is available, you can use hand cream or edible oil to rub for 1 minute, then wash with soapy water.

②Item surface: Use solvents such as alcohol, acetone, and ethyl acetate for wiping. Note that the solvents must be compatible with the material to avoid damage.

2.Cleaning hardened polyurethane adhesive

①Skin contamination: Soak your hands in warm water (around 40°C) for 5-10 minutes to soften the adhesive, then use a scrubbing pad or an old toothbrush dipped in soap to gently scrub, and finally wipe off the remaining adhesive particles with alcohol and rinse.

②Surface of the item: You can apply a special adhesive remover spray and wait for a few minutes before wiping it off. Alternatively, immerse the item in solvents such as acetone or propanone for a long time to cause the adhesive to swell, then use a cloth to remove it.
