1.What is water-based PU adhesive?
 
In simple terms, water-based PU adhesive is a Polyurethane Adhesive with water as the main dispersion medium, which is completely different from the traditional solvent-based adhesives we are familiar with as "pungent and flammable". Its core component is sub-micron-sized polyurethane particles, which are evenly dispersed in water to form a milky white emulsion, as mild as the emulsions we use daily. Some people might ask, "Polyurethane sounds very chemical. Could it be unsafe?" In fact, you can rest assured that high-quality water-based PU glue contains no or only a small amount of co-solvents, and has no pungent VOC (volatile organic compounds) emissions like traditional glue. Moreover, it is non-flammable and non-toxic, and is particularly friendly to both the human body and the environment. This is also the core reason why it has been rapidly popularized.
 
2.Why is it called an "upgraded" glue?

Traditional adhesives dissolve their components with organic solvents. Its bonding strength is no less than that of traditional adhesives, and it even surpasses them in terms of water resistance, resistance to high and low temperatures, and wear resistance. Moreover, its application scope is particularly wide. Whether it is bonding leather, EVA, and rubber during shoe-making, or bonding wood and fabric during decoration, or even bonding instrument panels in the automotive industry, it can handle all these tasks with ease. It can be called a "versatile bonding expert".
(3)Cost-friendly: Enterprises can produce more efficiently and reduce costs. For manufacturing enterprises, water-based PU glue is a "cost-effective and worry-free" choice. Its construction is particularly simple. It can be applied by brushing, roller coating or spraying. The construction tools can be directly cleaned with water, and the residual glue is also easy to remove, which greatly reduces the process cost. Moreover, its solid content is very high. Although the unit price seems not low, the actual usage is much less than that of traditional glue. Coupled with the fact that there is no need to invest in explosion-proof equipment and ventilation equipment, the overall production cost of the enterprise can be reduced by 15% to 20%.
